Jerusalem, 14 February, 2018 (TPS) -- Guards at the entrance to the Salam military court in Samaria apprehended three Palestinians in possession of four pipe bombs Wednesday. This is the fourth time this year that an attempt to smuggle explosives into the court compound was thwarted.

A Border Police officer was guarding the entrance to the court compound when he noticed three individuals who raised his suspicion. The soldier made his way toward them when he noticed one of the suspects holding what appeared to be a pipe bomb, which he then cast aside. A second suspect also threw aside a bag containing another pipe bomb, and upon searching the suspect, two additional pipe bombs were found hidden underneath their clothing.

The improvised explosive devices were designed to be triggered by a fire fuse, and all three suspects were caught possessing lighters meant for that purpose. A Border Police bomb squad was summoned to the scene, where they secured the parameter and located the bomb thrown aside at the beginning of the incident.
