Jerusalem, 15 December, 2017 (TPS) -- A Border Police Officer  was moderately injured  when a Palestinian tried to  stab him in  Ayosh Square between Ramallah and Beit El Friday afternoon amid disturbances throughout Judea and Samaria.

The Palestinian was shot and neutralized by other Border Police officers on the scene and evacuated by the Palestinian Red Crescent in critical condition. Photo footage from the scene showed the man was wearing an explosive  belt, however it was unclear whether it was in fact a real or fake belt.

According to Israel Police the Palestinian may have infiltrated  the area pretending to be a journalist . He then ran toward the force and began to stab the Border Police officer in the upper part of his body.

The wounded Border Guard soldier is currently being treated at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
