Report: PM held secret meeting with Egyptian President el-Sisi

Jerusalem, 13 August, 2018 (TPS) -- Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu recently met in secret with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi to discuss a possible long-term arrangement for the Gaza Strip, according to an unconfirmed report on Channel 10 News. According to the report Monday, Netanyahu met on May 22, with the Egyptian president in Cairo  where the two discussed reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah, easing of restrictions on the Gaza Strip and the return of the remains of Israeli soldiers held by Hamas in the framework of a long-term ceasefire agreement. The Prime Minister’s Office declined to confirm the report. Netanyahu and Sisi met in public in Cairo in September 2017.
