UAE Reinforcing Position as Beacon of Sustainability

Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), stated the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, is reinforcing its position as a beacon of sustainability, and a critical enabler of the energy transition, in the Middle East, as the nation gears-up to host Cop28 next year.
“On the 51st National Day of the United Arab Emirates as we come Together for the Future, the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed lives on, positively impacting and empowering all of those who call the UAE their home today,” said Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany in a statement on the occasion of the UAE’s 51st National Day.
“The robust foundations that our founding fathers laid in 1971 have fostered the conditions for a sustainable future, with people at the heart of our nation’s continued development. ”
“And with the launch of ‘We The UAE 2031’, announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE will continue to accelerate its drive towards a net-zero economy by 2050, and further consolidate its role as a global exporter of cutting-edge innovation in science and technology.”
