Attempted Stabbing Reported at Qalandia Checkpoint Outside Jerusalem

Jerusalem, 26 July, 2016 (TPS-IL) -- A female Palestinian reportedly attempted a stabbing attack at the Qalandia checkpoint north of Jerusalem, shortly after 3 pm on Tuesday. The stabber was reportedly shot in the limbs by Israeli forces and was neutralized. She sustained light wounds and was transported to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem for medical treatment.
Jerusalem police initially reported that a young female Palestinian was quickly approached the Qalandiya checkpoint. The guards who were stationed at the checkpoint called upon her several times to stop several times. Instead, she continued to run towards them, whereupon the guards attempted to stop her and fired in the direcion of her lower body.
