Israeli Police Flood Jerusalem Neighborhoods In Law Enforcement Crackdown

Jerusalem, 27 July, 2016 (TPS-IL) -- Approximately 700 policemen took part in a law enforcement operation Wednesday morning in the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Silwan and Ras-al Amud. The Jerusalem Police said that 52 suspects were arrested for offenses ranging from terrorism and drugs to participation in violent riots. Police summoned 28 additional residents for interrogation.

It was the third such operation this year, and the police said it was designed to “root out crime and improve the quality of life for the city’s residents.”
