207 Fires Put Out Across Bulgaria on Saturday

A total of 207 fires were extinguished across Bulgaria on Saturday, 126 of them in dry-grass areas and forests, 40 with direct material damage, the Directorate General for Fire Safety and Civil Protection (FSCP) says on its website.

No people were injured in fire-related incidents over the 24-hour period.

FSCP received 270 alerts on Friday. 52 rescue and auxiliary operations were carried out.

Fire brigade teams responded to seven vehicle accidents (six road and one rail), one industrial accident in the electricity grid. The fire department also responded to a report of fallen trees and rocks. There were 42 cases of technical assistance provided by the fire brigade teams. They have assisted other structures of the Interior Ministry, other agencies, and citizens, including transporting an injured person to a medical facility.

Of the accident reports, 11 were false calls, the FSCP added.
