Shots fired at the Israeli-Egyptian Border Kills One Worker

Jerusalem, 25 October, 2016 (TPS-IL) -- The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported shots fired from the Egyptian side of the border towards a construction team on the Israeli side in the region of Mount Harif which killed one person. According to the Defense Ministry, the said person worked in civil society, serving maintenance work on the border fence between Israel and Egypt.
Preliminary investigation conducted by the IDF in contact with the Egyptian army reveaved that the incident does not apparently point to a terrorist attack. Circumstances of the incident are still being reviewed.
