Judea and Samaria and East Jerusalem: Weapons’ Workshops Closed and Arrests Made

Jerusalem, 8 November, 2016 (TPS-IL) -- The IDF Spokesperson stated that during nightly operations in Judea and Samaria, the IDF and security forces had closed down a weapons’ manufacturing workshops in the villages of Yatta and Jenin and arrested a man suspected of running Yatta’s workshop.

The IDF conducted several search operations around Yatta during which they found home made weapons with matching bullets, a suitcase containing 15 knives and propaganda material.  Since the beginning of 2016, as part of the campaign against weapons in Judea and Samaria, Israeli forces seized over 370 weapons and shut down 36 factories for the production of weapons.

They arrested six wanted men in Judea and Samaria suspected of involvement in terrorism and mass disturbances along with violence towards civilians and security forces, all taken in for questioning.

During the night, IDF and security forces also escorted 800 worshipers at Joseph’s Tomb in Nabuls, during which occured several disturbances. All the rioters were dispersed and no casualties were reported.

The Jerusalem Police Foreign Press’ Spokesperson also announced nine arrests were made during overnight operations in the East Jerusalem neighborhoods of Ras al-Amud, Shuafat and Isawiya
All of the suspects were involved in riots, attacking police with petrol bombs, rocks and targeting security forces.
