In Sofia, Israeli Nationals Empathize with Abducted Compatriots in Gaza
Jerusalem, 7 November, 2023 (TPS) -- SOFIA, 07.11.2023 (BTA)
Israeli nationals gathered in front of Sofia’s National Palace of Culture on Tuesday to honor the Israelis killed and kidnapped to Gaza on October 7.
The participants in the initiative left skates, prams and toys on the site as a token of empathy.
“We, members of the Israeli community in Bulgaria, are here to show what happened on October 7, when the terrorist organization Hamas assaulted peaceful population of the State of Israel,” Zionist Federation of Bulgaria President Nikolay Galabov, who is an Israeli citizen and initiated the event.
“More than 3,000 women, men and children aged between 3 months and 85 years were wounded, killed, raped and brutally separated from their close ones by Hamas,” Galabov said. “They were murdered in their sleep, and others were dragged from their homes. Babies, children, women, peaceful civilians who are not a bargaining chip and must be returned. If Hamas wants to wage a war, let them wage it on the Israeli military. Let civilians be left out of that war,” he appealed.
Inbal Zach, an Israeli national who arrived from Tel Aviv on Monday, told BTA that she is here because her family had been kidnapped by Hamas. “My cousin, his wife, their children are in Gaza,” she said. “We don’t know whether they are alive, whether they have food and water, whether they are healthy. We don’t have any information about them, and the world must be aware of that. Two hundred and forty-five persons have been abducted from their homes,” Zach said.
Tamara Solomon, a resident of Bulgaria for 25 years, said she was here to show that the abduction of children in Israel to Gaza should never be forgotten. “Little children are pure and innocent, they cannot understand. Their beds are empty, the toys wait for kids to come and play with them,” Solomon said and appealed for their release.
