Israeli Journalists Protest Changes o Channel 13

Jerusalem, 15 July, 2024 (TPS) -- Some of Israel’s top television journalists attended the “Emergency Conference to Save Channel 13” (one of the country’s three broadcast channels) held Sunday at Tel Aviv’s Tzavta Theater in protest of attempts to “politicize and weaken” journalists at Channel 13, following the appointment of Yulia Shmalov-Berkovic as CEO of News 13 and the cancellation of the program “War Zone” hosted by Raviv Drucker. The program was popular and highly critical of the government.

The journalists maintain that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is behind the moves in order to silence his critics.
