Police Stop Ultra-Orthodox From Storming Military Recruitment Center in Protest Against the Draft

Jerusalem, 5 August, 2024 (TPS) -- Ultra-orthodox Israelis who opposed being drafted into the Israel Defense Forces clashed with police during an illegal demonstration they held outside the Tel Hashomer army base where recruits go when drafted. The protest came following the summoning of hundreds of ultra-Orthodox young men to their first order as determined by the Israeli High Court of Justice.
