‘Shoes on the Danube’ Memorial for Hungarian Holocaust Victims and Oct. 7 Victims

Jerusalem, 18 September, 2024 (TPS) -- Yellow ribbons tied to shoes and photos of the hostages held in captivity in the Gaza Strip were placed along the Danube River in Budapest as part of the “Shoes on the Danube” memorial in the capital of Hungary, which commemorates Jews who were murdered and thrown into the river during World War II.

It is also connected to the plight of Israelis held hostage in Gaza by Hamas terrorists.
