Jerusalem, 8 October, 2024 (TPS) -- Jews practicing the Kapparot ritual in the city of Bnei-Brak, a center of Haredi Judaism, ahead of the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur, by waving a chicken which represents the sins they wish to cast away, over a person’s head. The meat of the chicken, or money instead, is then given to the homeless or poor as an act of charity.
