Israeli Raids Crack Down on PFLP Terror Group, 60 Arrested
Jerusalem, 5 November, 2024 (TPS) -- Israeli security forces arrested more than 60 terror operatives from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in raids across Judea and Samaria, the Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) said on Tuesday.
They added that PFLP terrorists in Lebanon were simultaneously attacked.
“The PFLP is a murderous and extremist terrorist organization responsible for numerous significant attacks in recent years,” the joint statement said. “The organization operates throughout Judea and Samaria as well as in other arenas, aiming to advance terror activities against Israel.”
The PFLP is a Palestinian Marxist-Leninist terror group founded in 1967 and known for its revolutionary leftist ideology.
Among those arrested in was Abla Sa’adat, who heads the Women’s Committees Association of the PFLP. Sa’adat is married to PFLP head Ahmad Sa’adat, who has been imprisoned in Israel since 2006.
Another PFLP figure, Tahrir Badran Gaber from Ramallah was also arrested.
Also among the 60 arrested were students who were active members of PFLP cells at Palestinian universities.
Israeli security forces shut down offices and businesses associated with the terror group.
Since the October 7 attacks, Israeli security forces have arrested more than 5,250 wanted Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, of whom around 40% are associated with Hamas.
Earlier in the day, a wanted Palestinian terror suspect carrying over one million shekels ($293,000) in suspected terror funds at a checkpoint in the Etzyon region south of Jerusalem.
