Azerbaijan Boosts Gas Exports to Europe by 8%
Jerusalem, 11 December, 2024 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – Azerbaijan produced 45.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas from January to November 2024, the Ministry of Energy reported. The production included 12.1 bcm from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) fields, 25.3 bcm from Shah Deniz, 1.4 bcm from Absheron, and 7 bcm from SOCAR. Gas transportation increased by 4.1% compared to the same period last year.
Gas sales during this period reached 22.9 bcm, marking a 5% growth compared to 2023. Of this, 11.7 bcm was sold to Europe, representing an 8% rise. Additionally, 9 bcm was sold to Türkiye, and 2.2 bcm to Georgia. Exports to Türkiye included 5.1 bcm transported via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
Since the start of production at the ACG and Shah Deniz fields, Azerbaijan has extracted 648.4 million tons of oil (including condensate) and 462.8 bcm of gas. This includes 600.1 million tons of oil and 228.5 bcm of gas from ACG, and 234.3 bcm of gas and 48.3 million tons of condensate from Shah Deniz. To date, Azerbaijan has exported 646.4 million tons of oil (including condensate) and approximately 167.6 bcm of gas.
