Azerbaijani Judo Team Finishes European Cup With 7 Medals

Jerusalem, 7 April, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – The European Youth Cup held in Poznan, Poland, has ended.

AZERTAC reports that on the second day of the competition, the Azerbaijani national team won one gold and two silver medals.

Ramazan Ahmadov, who took to the tatami in the +100 kg weight category, defeated all his opponents and became the champion. Suleyman Shukurov (-81 kg) and Tuncay Shamil (-90 kg) won silver medals.

It should be noted that on the first day of the competition, our young judokas Farid Garayev (-60 kilograms) and Mahammad Musayev (-66 kilograms) won gold medals, while Nihad Mamishov (-66 kilograms) and Abil Yusubov (-73 kilograms) won bronze medals.

Thus, the Azerbaijani judo team, consisting of 7 medal-winning youth, finished the European Cup in first place among 23 countries in the boys’ competition and second in the overall standings.
