One-Third of Iran’s Missile Launching Capabilities Destroyed: Israel
Jerusalem, 16 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- The Israeli Air Force has destroyed approximately one-third of Iran’s missile launch capabilities in a series of targeted strikes, Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effi Defrin announced Monday.
“Since the beginning of the operation, more than 120 missile launchers — constituting one-third of the Iranian regime’s total launchers — have been destroyed,” Defri said.
Overnight into Monday, the Israeli military struck more than 20 launch sites across Iran just minutes before the missiles were set to be fired toward Israeli population centers.
“These launchers were actively preparing to attack the Israeli home front,” said Defri. “They were simultaneously struck in a precise and coordinated operation.”
Twenty-four people have been killed and hundreds injured in four days of Iranian missile attacks.
Israel launched preemptive strikes against Iranian nuclear sites on Friday, citing intelligence that Tehran had reached “a point of no return” in its pursuit of nuclear weapons. According to Israeli defense officials, Iran has developed the capacity to rapidly enrich uranium and assemble nuclear bombs, with sufficient fissile material for up to 15 weapons.
Israeli intelligence also exposed a covert program to complete all components of a nuclear device. The strikes mark a dramatic escalation in what officials describe as a broader Iranian strategy combining nuclear development, missile proliferation, and proxy warfare aimed at Israel’s destruction.
