Teachers Across Bulgaria Join AI-Era Digital Skills Academy

Jerusalem, 15 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – Over 600 teachers from different parts of Bulgaria underwent specialized training to develop critical thinking and creativity in a digital context, the Prepodavame.bg platform announced.

Such training is being conducted within the framework of the Academy for the Development of Digital Skills in the Age of Artificial Intelligence for the second consecutive year by Prepodavame.bg and Yettel. It is freely available to all interested teachers from all over the country.

The training met with great interest because of the practical ideas for encouraging student activity. The educational activities in support of teachers are part of a broader long-term initiative to support teachers in developing digital literacy in students, organizers said.

As part of the program, teachers are provided with additional resources related to new technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). Through a series of lectures, webinars and videos, participants develop their abilities to understand, analyze, and use digital information and learn to work with new tools and platforms, applying what they have learned in the teaching process and passing it on to their students, Prepodavame.bg said.

“Digital literacy today is not limited to the ability to use technology – it includes the ability to think critically, create content, and navigate a complex information world. These are skills that determine whether our children will be successful and responsible digital citizens,” explained Yulia Mishkova from the team of the educational platform Prepodavame.bg.

Training within the Academy continues in the fall, when the first-of-its-kind tools for self-assessment of digital skills for students and teachers in the context of the European Digital Literacy Framework are expected to be presented, the organizers also said.

Prepodavame.bg is the largest resource site for teachers, principals and educational experts in Bulgaria. “Together in Class” created it in 2019. Over 250 schools now have access to ready-made resources and professional qualifications for their entire team, and over 30,000 teachers and principals use Prepodavame.bg every week.
