Police Find 500 Kg of Cannabis in Southwest Bulgaria

Jerusalem, 5 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Petrich/Sandanski, Southwestern Bulgaria (BTA) – Bulgarian Police officers found over 260 herbaceous plants with a total weight of about 500 kilograms of cannabis, the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Blagoevgrad said on Tuesday.

The plants were found on August 4 during a police operation in two villages in Southwest Bulgaria – Churilovo and Ploski.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the cases.
