Jerusalem, 6 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – An unusual natural phenomenon was observed at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies of the Ministry of Science and Education in Baku. The cherry tree in the courtyard of the institute bloomed again in August, attracting the attention of scientists and employees.

The institute told AZERTAC that the fact that this fruit tree, which traditionally blooms in the spring, blooms a second time towards the end of the summer season is considered quite rare and unusual for the Baku-Absheron peninsula.

Experts note that in recent years, unusually variable weather patterns and temperature differences have affected the biological cycles of many plant species. Scientists are continuing observations to further analyze such phenomena and investigate their causes.
