Passenger Caught Trying to Smuggle Gold Bars into Azerbaijan

Jerusalem, 3 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – As a result of customs control measures carried out by employees of the General Customs Department for Air Transport, the illegal crossing of gold bars across the customs border was prevented.

The State Customs Committee told AZERTAC that a citizen of the country arriving on a Dubai-Baku flight was subjected to a personal check and 10 “Pamp” brand gold bars with a total weight of 712 grams, which were hidden from customs control, were discovered on him.

An investigation into the matter is underway.
