Azerbaijani Weightlifters Continue Strong Showing at Riyadh Games

Jerusalem, 10 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Riyadh (AZERTAC) – Azerbaijani weightlifter Ravin Almammedov (79 kilograms) won three medals at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh.

AZERTAC reports that the national member lifted 155 kilograms in the deadlift and took second place in this event.

He came third in the clean and jerk, lifting 190 kilograms overhead.

Almammedov rose to the second step of the podium with a total of 345 kilograms in the two lifts.

With this, the number of medals won by the Azerbaijani weightlifting team at the Islamiyad has reached nine. Previously, Nuray Abilova (48 kilograms) won three bronze medals, and Isa Rustamov (71 kilograms) won one silver and two bronze medals.
