Public By Pesach Benson • 17 December, 2025

Jerusalem, 17 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- With two years of conflict now behind it, Israel is preparing to welcome a wave of tourists this December, as travel warnings ease and flights resume. The Ministry of Tourism expects around 130,000 visitors, including approximately 40,000 Christian pilgrims coming to celebrate Christmas.

In anticipation of the influx, the ministry has invested over NIS 600,000 ($186,000) to upgrade infrastructure in Nazareth and enhance festive decorations, including lighting displays and fireworks. An additional NIS 250,000 ($77,000) has been allocated for marketing the holiday events.

Nazareth’s central Christmas processions, known for their vibrant and festive atmosphere, are expected to attract both international and domestic tourists. Meanwhile, through the company for the development of Akko Old City and Nazareth, the ministry is also organizing a Christmas market in the Courtyard of the Knights Halls in Akko.
