From Novruz to Digital Literacy: TikTok Showcases Azerbaijani Creativity in 2025
Jerusalem, 17 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – TikTok, the leading platform for watching and creating short videos, has announced its 2025 results.
AZERTAC reports that at the event held in this regard, it was noted that more than 1 billion people around the world use TikTok every day to get inspired and inspire others, share their knowledge, create unique content, and simply lift their spirits and those of others. 2025 was a time of new discoveries on TikTok: inspiring stories, small businesses and talented creators who became favorites of users, content that presented Azerbaijani culture from a new perspective and revealed the country’s inexhaustible creative potential…
It was noted that TikTok is also a platform where everyone can showcase their talent and gain popularity; here small businesses find their customers, thematic and educational initiatives are implemented, and content with a national flavor rises to the forefront of recommendations.
TikTok’s highlights in 2025 included the promotion of Azerbaijani culture under the theme #Novruz2025. This year, for the first time, the platform celebrated the spring holiday of Novruz with its audience in Azerbaijan. Users created more than 12,000 videos using the hashtag #Novruz2025, showing how they prepared for and celebrated the holiday, sharing recipes for holiday dishes, and showcasing the beauty of their country’s traditions. The online festival on TikTok was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
TikTok initiated the first competition called #AzerbaijanTeachers and implemented it with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The competition brought together hundreds of talented teachers from different regions of the country, who are not afraid to experiment with creative formats to promote knowledge and educational content.
Teachers from secondary schools, as well as from colleges and higher education institutions, were invited to participate in the project — they shared educational videos on their subjects on the platform. According to the project results, the number of educational videos shared under the official hashtag #AzerbaijanTeachers exceeded 4,000.
TikTok also introduced the first Azerbaijani-language educational project dedicated to digital literacy, developed in collaboration with famous creators — the #SafetyFirst project.
“This year has clearly demonstrated the great power of creative and educational content that contributes to the spread of knowledge, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the formation of a positive digital environment,” said Melis Çağlar, Head of Operations for Azerbaijan, Turkey, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia at TikTok.
“Our first festival dedicated to the Novruz holiday in Azerbaijan became the largest cultural event of the year on the platform; teachers from all over the country had the opportunity to test their creativity and share their knowledge with hundreds of thousands of users, while entrepreneurs continued to use TikTok to develop their businesses. We will continue to support authors, develop initiatives in the fields of culture, education, and digital literacy, as well as support users to express themselves freely and creatively in a comfortable environment,” Çağlar added.
