Firefighters Tackle 58 Fires, Carry Out 36 Rescue Operations Across Bulgaria
Jerusalem, 24 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – Fire services in Bulgaria have responded to 99 reports of accidents and extinguished 58 fires over the past 24 hours. There were no deaths or injuries, the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection (GDFPP) announced on its website.
22 of the fires caused material damage – 13 in residential buildings, one in auxiliary buildings, four in vehicles, two in outdoor facilities and two others. 36 of the fires that occurred did not cause material damage – one in dry grass, forest litter and bushes, 29 in waste, four in cooking appliances and chimneys and two others.
The PBZN teams have also carried out 36 rescue activities and assistance operations – three in accidents, one in a mercury incident, 29 for providing technical assistance and three for providing assistance to injured citizens for transportation and organizing transport to a medical facility.
Five false calls were also submitted.
