Jerusalem, 9 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – Having trained more than 300 specialists over the past three years, the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center has become an important pillar in strengthening the country’s cybersecurity potential. In the modern era, cybersecurity is no longer just a technical profession, but a major responsibility in terms of protecting critical infrastructure, ensuring trust, and ensuring that innovations serve society.

AZERTAC reports that these thoughts were expressed by Moti Yeger, Director of the Center for Continuing Education at the Technion University of Israel, during his speech at the 6th Graduation Day of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center held in Baku.

He said that in an era of rapid development of artificial intelligence and digital systems, cybersecurity is of strategic importance for national security and public trust.

Moti Yeger noted that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of artificial intelligence between Israel and Azerbaijan in Jerusalem last week is an indication of the strong and lasting strategic partnership between the two countries. The document was signed in the presence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev.

Emphasizing that the cooperation between Technion, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDIA), and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is aimed at building long-term potential and developing knowledge and human capital, M. Yeger stated that the School of Continuing Education is based on the principle of lifelong learning.

He noted that this program focuses on how the technology is designed and implemented safely, rather than what it is capable of.

At the end of his speech, Moti Yeger expressed his gratitude to IRIA and local partners for their support and cooperation.
