Azerbaijan’s SOCAR Sees Gas Production Rise by 1.4% in 2025

Jerusalem, 12 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – Last year, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) carried out 66,000 meters of drilling while 7.1 million tons of oil and 7.8 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from fields operated by the company independently or as a major shareholder.

SOCAR told AZERTAC that the company’s natural gas production increased by 1.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

Gas production in the country increased by 2.1 percent compared to 2024, reaching 51.5 billion cubic meters. In total, 27.7 million tons of oil were produced in Azerbaijan last year.

During the reporting period, SOCAR exported 16.1 million tons of oil to foreign markets. This includes the volumes of oil produced by the company itself, as well as the profit shares of the Azerbaijani state and SOCAR from oil produced by international consortiums operating in our country.

Natural gas exports across the country amounted to 25.2 billion cubic meters, while consumption was 13.2 billion cubic meters. As a result of the increase in the share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation, natural gas consumption within the country decreased by 3.1 percent.

Last year, SOCAR processed more than 6.2 million tons of oil and more than 3 billion cubic meters of gas. During the reporting period, oil refining increased by 7.2 percent compared to 2024. 2.2 million tons of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products produced at SOCAR’s facilities in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets.
