Azerbaijani Boxers Claim Four Medals at Prestigious Budva Tournament
Jerusalem, 12 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- The “Pearl of the Adriatic” international tournament, which has the status of a World Cup among young boxers, has ended in Budva, Montenegro.
The Boxing Federation told AZERTAC that the Azerbaijani national team won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the competition, which was attended by 18 countries. Rza Rzayev (70 kilograms) defeated all his rivals in the team. He defeated Maksim Kirillov in the final with a score of 4:1 (30:27, 28:29, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28) and ascended to the highest step of the podium.
Among the other Azerbaijani boxers, Heydar Azmammadov (85 kilograms) won silver, and Vusal Khalilov (65 kilograms) and Zaur Samadov (90 kilograms) won bronze. With this indicator, the national team took third place in the team standings.
