Jerusalem, 3 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (BTA) – A startup project launched by Azerbaijani students Vagif Kazimli, Yunus Kazimli, and Yusif Gurbanli from the University of Miami, one of the top-rated universities in the United States, has generated great interest. The group has developed a new generation electronic medical registration system based on artificial intelligence.

The State Committee for Work with Diaspora told AZERTAC that the team is preparing to present this project at the “eMerge Americas 2026” technology conference and exhibition, which will be held in Miami on April 22-24, bringing together more than 20,000 participants and more than 60 countries. They were invited to the event as both a keynote speaker at the panel on “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare” and as a sponsor.

The electronic health record platform aims to reduce the daily workload of doctors, optimize medical data management, and support the clinical decision-making process through artificial intelligence. The project is considered an important step in terms of increasing efficiency in the healthcare system.

The project won the startup presentation competition held within the framework of the “University Student Startup Accelerator (USTAAR)” organized by the University of Miami and received an investment of $100,000. At the same time, the startup was also awarded a grant from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Innovation Fund.

The main goal of the platform is to minimize the time doctors spend on documentation and allow them to spend more time with patients. The system also aims to contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services by ensuring faster and more accurate processing of medical data.

“Our main goal when creating this system was to facilitate the work of doctors and provide smarter, more effective solutions in the healthcare system. “Other members of our team – Yunus Kazimli and Yusif Gurbanli – later joined the project and made a great contribution to its development,” said project founder Vagif Kazimli.

“Currently, the startup project is being tested in a number of leading hospitals in the United States. We hope that this project will be implemented in Azerbaijan in the future. Our goal is to accelerate the transition to a new stage in the field of electronic medical registration in our country, and at the same time, to provide more efficient and high-quality services to citizens with a centralized and artificial intelligence-supported platform,” Kazimli added.
