Azerbaijani Scholar Ali Farhadov Named Best Researcher of 2026
Jerusalem, 14 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – Leading researcher of the Department of Scientific Research and Presentation of Azerbaijani History of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Philosophy in History, Associate Professor Ali Farhadov was selected as the winner of the “Best Researcher of the Year – 2026” international competition organized by the National Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research of Kazakhstan (NACSIR) among scientific and educational institutions and awarded a first-degree diploma.
AZERTAC reports that Farhadov was awarded this award for his research work published in the prestigious international scientific journal “Science and Education: Modern Time” published in Astana. The article published in Russian is dedicated to the topic “A look at Turkic-Islamic history in the work of VV Barthold (based on the work “Muslim Culture”)”. The research work proves that Islamic culture is the product of the joint creativity of the Arab, Persian and Turkic peoples. Negative stereotypes in European historiography are refuted, and the founding and military-administrative role of the Turks in Islamic civilization starting from the Abbasid era is highlighted.
The article also analyzes the contributions of great personalities to world science and literature such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, Nasir al-Din Tusi, Nizami Ganjavi, Imad al-Din Nasimi, and Alisher Navoi. The role of states such as the Seljuks, Timurids, Ottomans, Baburlu and Safavids in political stability and cultural advancement in the region is also interpreted on scientific grounds.
Additionally, Fahadov’s study specifically presents the view of Turkish scholar Mehmed Fuad Köprülü on Barthold’s work.
