Baku Engineering University Launches New Materials Science Laboratory

Jerusalem, 5 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – The opening ceremony of the newly established Materials Science Laboratory at the Faculty of Architecture and Construction of Baku Engineering University (BEU) was held.

BEU told AZERTAC that in his opening speech, Rector Yagub Piriyev assessed the creation of another new laboratory as an important step towards strengthening the university’s scientific and research infrastructure. It was noted that the field of materials science occupies an important place in architectural and civil engineering, and the new laboratory will play an important role in the study of innovative materials, determination of quality indicators, as well as the application of modern technologies.

The Rector also expressed confidence that the scientific research to be conducted here will contribute to the development of the construction and industrial sectors.

The laboratory is equipped with the minimum necessary devices and equipment for determining the physical and mechanical properties of ceramics, adhesives, concrete, stone and other materials. This creates a favorable learning environment for students to more deeply master the subject of “Materials Science”.

After the meeting, Rector Yagub Piriyev talked with the students, looked at their handicrafts and paintings. At the same time, he touched upon the development prospects of the laboratory and gave relevant recommendations for its further improvement and strengthening of its material and technical base.
