Medina Sadiqova Strikes Gold, Azerbaijan Celebrates Landmark Karate Victory

Jerusalem, 24 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – Azerbaijani female karate athlete Medina Sadiqova won a gold medal at the European Senior Championships held in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Azerbaijan Karate Federation told AZERTAC that the athlete, who competed in the 55 kilogram weight category, surpassed all his rivals and rose to the highest step of the podium.

Thus, Sadiqova went down in history as the first Azerbaijani female karate player to become the European champion among adults in the history of Azerbaijani karate.
