Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnast Has Double Medal Day At European Championships
Jerusalem, 31 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Varna on the Black Sea (BTA) – Stiliyana Nikolova won a gold medal in the clubs final and silver for her ribbon routine performance at the 2026 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, taking place at the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna from May 27 to 31.
The judges awarded Nikolova 29.750 points for her performance with the clubs (13.4 difficulty, 8.200 execution, 8.200 artistry, 0.050 penalty). Nikolova has won the European champion title on this apparatus for the second year in a row.
Maria Borisova (Russia) ranked second in clubs with 29.200 points, and Daniela Munits (Israel) was third with 29.200.
Nikolova won silver for her ribbon routine, after judges awarded her performance 28.750 points (13.1, 7.950, 7.700).
This is her fourth and fifth medal at the Championships after the team gold, the silver in the all-around and the ball final.
The second Bulgarian Eva Brezalieva also performed her ribbon routine well and ranked sixth with 27.000 (11.5, 7.700, 7.800).
The all-around champion Darja Varfolomeev (Germany) won the ribbon final with 30.000 points, Maria Borisova (Russia) with 28.400 is third.
So far, Bulgaria has eight medals from the 2026 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics – four gold and four silver.
