Burgas Celebrates as Bulgaria’s Eurovision 2027 Host City
Jerusalem, 13 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Burgas (BTA) – Burgas Municipality employees came out in front of the city government building to celebrate the news of the city’s selection to host Eurovision in May 2027.
From the moment of the announcement, the song “Bangaranga,” with which Dara won the song contest this year, has been playing on all the central pedestrian streets of the city. Under its sounds, several deputy mayors, as well as the majority of city administration employees, came out in front of the Burgas Municipality building to celebrate the choice with applause and dancing. Some of them already had T-shirts prepared with the Eurovision logo printed on it along with the name of Burgas next to it.
“There was no department that did not get involved in the preliminary preparations. Filling out the application book, as Mr. Nikolov said, was a very serious request for the opportunities that Burgas has,” commented the deputy mayor for culture and religion Diana Savateva. She stated that the first and foremost importance was the capacity of the hall to accommodate such a large event and the additional activities that need to be done in it.
“The capabilities of the city and the region were also important, because here there is a requirement for technical indicators, for transport connectivity, there is a requirement for the attitude of the city itself to take on and organize such an event, because Eurovision is not just a competition. Eurovision is a large-scale event that includes activities in absolutely all spheres,” said Savateva.
According to her, the city must show its readiness to breathe with the rhythm of Eurovision – to have different locations that are ready to welcome thousands of fans, to have a fan club, to have a EuroVillage, to have a club in which all these guests of ours will be able to experience unforgettable hours and contemporary locations with stages for diverse music, said the deputy mayor.
“Believe me, the team saw Burgas in a different way. I personally saw it in a different way. And I know that this is a place, including the region of which Burgas is the center, ready to welcome such a large-scale event. This is an incredible opportunity for the entire region to fall into a different orbit. And we will do it,” Savateva said.
