Azerbaijani Boxer Nasirli Reaches U-19 European Championship Semifinals

Jerusalem, 18 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – Azerbaijani boxer Banuchicek Nasirli reached the semifinals of the U-19 European Championship held in Loznica, Serbia.

The Boxing Federation told AZERTAC that the national member, competing in the 48-kilogram weight category, faced Katarzyna Gornisiewicz (Poland) in the quarterfinals.

Nasirli defeated his opponent 3:2 (30:27, 28:29, 28:29, 30:27, 29:28). He qualified for the semifinals, securing at least a bronze medal for himself.

He will fight Ellen Joyce (Ireland) in the final on August 20.

Four more athletes from the Azerbaijani team will compete in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
