Jerusalem, 1 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – Three digital innovation hubs in Bulgaria will receive additional funding of nearly EUR 6 million to expand their services for businesses and the public sector, the press office of the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation (MIDT) said on Tuesday.

These are the European Digital Innovation Hub Trakia, the European Digital Innovation Hub for the construction sector, and AgroHub.BG. They have already secured funding under the Digital Europe Programme, through which the European Commission covers 50% of their operating costs. The remainder will be provided under the Research, Innovation and Digitalisation for Smart Transformation Programme (RIDST) of the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation.

The application procedure is open, and the three beneficiaries can submit their project proposals entirely through ISUN (Information System for Management and Monitoring of EU Funds) by October 8.

They are part of a national network of 12 digital and innovation hubs supporting businesses and public-sector organizations in adopting new technologies. With the additional funding, the hubs will continue providing specialized services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, including opportunities to test new technologies and products free of charge or at below-market prices, MIDT said.

New services will include artificial intelligence-related offerings, giving companies access to advanced technological solutions and expertise without having to build the necessary capacity themselves.

The EU support will also strengthen cooperation between Bulgarian and European digital innovation hubs, to give more companies and organizations access to modern technologies and accelerate their digital transformation.
