Bulgarian Beach Wrestling Tournament Set for Record Turnout

Jerusalem, 3 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Nessebar (BTA) – A record number of competitors are expected in the 3rd edition of the Republican Beach Wrestling Tournament at the NSA base near Nessebar on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast on Saturday.

The competition will be for all ages – boys and girls, cadets and cadets, juniors and seniors, men and women, and applications have been submitted by nearly 150 competitors.

Last year, about 100 wrestlers competed.

The competition is organized by the Chifudov Club and BF Borba. The discipline will make its debut at the Youth Olympic Games in Senegal in November.

World champion Radoslav Velikov also took part in the first edition of the tournament and came first in the men’s category.
