Danube River Level Continues to Fall Along Bulgarian Section

Jerusalem, 9 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Ruse (BTA) The minimal drop in the level of the Danube River continues over the last 24 hours at individual water gauge stations. This was announced by the Executive Agency for Research and Maintenance of the Danube River.

A similar trend was recorded in the last few days after the minimal fluctuations in early September. Over the past 24 hours, decreases of between 1-4 1 centimeters have been registered in the entire Bulgarian section of the river. The largest drop is at the water gauge in Ruse, where a level of minus 116 cm was recorded compared to the conditional zero level. At Silistra, the level is three centimeters lower than yesterday, September 8 – minus 100 cm, and at Oryahovo – by 2 centimeters for a level of minus 108 centimeters.

According to information from the River Supervision Directorate, there have been no new cases of stranded vessels in or outside the shipping lane in the last 24 hours.

All restrictions on the navigation of vessels along the entire Bulgarian section of the Danube River remain in force.
