Azerbaijani Expert Takes First Place in International Cybersecurity Competition

Jerusalem, 8 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – An employee of the National Cybersecurity Agency (NCSA), operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, was awarded first place in an international cybersecurity competition.

AZERTAC reports that Jeyhun Jafarov, Head of the Cybersecurity Operations Center of the Ministry of Defense, won the “Capture the Flag” (CTF) competition organized as part of the “CyberDSA 2026” event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Cybersecurity specialists from 46 countries participated in the competition.

Participants were presented with complex practical tasks related to ensuring the security of artificial intelligence systems, detecting vulnerabilities, and preventing cyberattacks.

Jafarov successfully completed the tasks at all stages of the competition and took first place.
