Netanyahu: “The Climate Agreement Signed in Paris is Important”
Jerusalem, 13 December, 2015 (TPS-IL) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the climate agreement signed in Paris, during the Israeli government meeting in Jerusalem.
“The climate agreement is important. We have an interest, like all countries, to ensure that the global warming effect is stopped, or at least lessened – and Israel will contribute,” said Netanyahu.
“Israel is a leader in sewage treatment, recycling and water desalination technologies, and we have a national program for crude-oil substitutes, including in transportation, and are world pioneers in this issue. We will lessen the emission of greenhouse gasses for the next generations,” he added.
“This is a complex international mission, which is built on the cooperation of all states, small ones and big ones alike. This requires international discipline which is not simple, but for the sake of humanity I hope that when this is achieved, it will definitely be achieved in the state of Israel,” concluded Netanyahu.
