Jerusalem, 6 August, 2018 (TPS-IL) -- Syrian weapons scientist Dr. Aziz Asbar, who was assassinated near his home in the central Syrian province of Hama on Sunday, was the third highest ranking official in Syrian President Assad’s missile program, Channel 10 News’ military correspondent Alon Ben David told 103FM Radio on Monday. According to Ben David, Asber was responsible for helping Iran build accurate missile launching infrastructures on Syrian and Lebanese soil, and that the July 22nd airstrike against Asbar’s research unit, attributed to Israel by foreign sources, was targeting weapons’ manufacturing components meant to be transferred to Lebanon.

“That man bothered us very much,” said Ben David, adding, “I don’t think anyone in Israel is shedding a tear over him.”
