Home of Barkan terrorist to be demolished
Jerusalem, 6 November, 2018 (TPS-IL) -- The IDF’s Central Command chief Maj.-Gen. Nadav Padan issued a demolition order for two stories of the home belonging to the family of the Barkan Industrial Zone terrorist, the IDF announced on Tuesday .
On October 7, 23-year-old Ashraf Naalwa, from the town of Shweika in northern Samaria murdered two Israelis – 28-year-old Kim Levengrond-Yehezkel and 35-year-old Ziv Hajbi – at Alon recycling factory located in the Barkan Industrial Zone in a terrorist attack.
Naalwa who had previously worked at the factory for seven months, forced an Arab cleaner to tie up his victims at gunpoint, and then shot them both at point blank range. He later shot and injured a third employee.
Naalwa fled the scene and he has since been on the run. Following the shooting, the IDF raided his home town and made several arrests. Family members – including his brother and sister – were detained, questioned and later released.
The IDF and Shin Bet have been on manhunt for Naalwa, who is believed to be armed and dangerous.
The Naalwa residence, in the village of Shweika, will remain partially intact, with the demolition to be limited to the two floors used by only by the terrorist.
The order was signed, after the terrorists family requested that the home be left fully intact. This was rejected.
“The security forces continue their hunt for the terrorist and will continue to act determinedly to thwart terror attacks and to deter potential terrorists.” IDF spokesperson said.
