Amir Peretz Again Elected to Lead Labor Party

Jerusalem, 3 July, 2019 (TPS-IL) -- Member of Knesset Amir Peretz was again elected to lead Israel’s Labor Party.

Amir Peretz received 47 percent of the votes, Stav Shafir came in second with 26.9 percent of the votes, and Itzik Shmuly got 26.3 percent.

Voting turnout was 46 percent and approximately 30 thousand members of the Labor Party participated in the elections.

A Knesset member almost continuously since 1988, he has also served Minister of Defense and Minister of Environmental Protection.

Peretz was previously elected to lead LaborĀ in November 2005.
