Jerusalem, 5 January, 2016 (TPS) -- An IDF reserve soldier was lightly wounded in a stabbing attack at Gush Etzion Junction, located south of Jerusalem which has lately been the scene of many terror attacks.

Preliminary details indicate that shortly before 9:00 am, a Palestinian man arrived at the junction by car and got off near a bus stop. While approaching it, a reserve soldier posted at the junction approached and confronted him.

At that point the terrorist drew a knife and stabbed the soldier in his face and hand, lightly wounding him. He was subsequently shot and killed by IDF forces. He was later identified by Palestinian sources as 18-year-old Ahmad Younis Kawazba from the village of Sair.

The reservist, reported to be about 34 years old, was treated at the scene and evacuated to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
