IGSU: 1,500 Missions Carried Out by Firefighters in Past 24 Hours
Jerusalem, 8 December, 2020 (TPS) -- Bucharest, Dec 8 /Agerpres/ – The firefighters carried out almost 1,500 missions around the country, in the past 24 hours, most of the emergency situations involving the SMURD crews.
‘As many as 1,181 persons received help from the SMURD crews at the national level, with most emergency situations have occurred in the Bucharest-Ilfov (344 cases) area, followed by the Constanta (62 cases) and Timis (58 cases) counties, informs a press release of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
Besides these requests, the rescuers intervened to extinguish 69 fires, as well as in 222 missions meant to protect communities.
There were no victims recorded following all these incidents.
The bad weather caused problems with the electricity supply, with damages recorded in eight localities in the Caras-Severin county. Four intervention crews from the electricity suppliers acted fast to remedy the situation.
