2 Palestinian Gunmen Killed in Shootout With Israeli Forces
Jerusalem, 2 January, 2023 (TPS) -- Two Palestinian gunmen were killed in a shootout with Israeli security forces in the village of Kafr Dan, near Jenin, in the early hours of Monday morning.
The Israel Defense Forces were working to demolish the homes of two terrorists who killed an Israeli soldier in a firefight in September.
The Palestinian Authority Health Ministry identified the two gunmen Muhammad Hushiya and Fuad Abed, both in their twenties. Hushiya was said to be a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade.
The Israeli military confirmed that soldiers were sent to demolish the homes of Ahmed Abed and Abdul Rahman Abed, two terrorists who killed Maj. Bar Falah, the deputy commander of an elite reconnaissance unit, in a shootout. Both terrorists were also killed in the shootout. Ahmed Abed was an officer in the Palestinian security services.
In an ongoing sweep against terror in Judea and Samaria, the IDF has thwarted 500 terror attacks and arrested more than 2,500 suspects. Operation Wave Breaker was launched by the IDF following a surge of Palestinian terror attacks in the spring which killed 19 people.
Overall, 31 people were killed in Palestinian terror attacks in 2022.
