2 Palestinians Planning Stabbing and Shooting Attacks Arrested
Jerusalem, 2 June, 2024 (TPS) -- Two Palestinians planning to carry out shooting and stabbing attacks are under arrest, the Israeli Police said on Sunday.
It was cleared for publication that the first Palestinian, who was residing illegally in Jerusalem, stole a knife from a fruit vendor in Jerusalem’s Old City to stab Israelis on May 21. However, he was deterred by the presence of security forces, began having feelings of regret, and turned himself in to the police.
He then told police that he and an accomplice also planned to acquire a gun to carry out a shooting attack against the community of Beit El in the Binyamin region.
Israel security forces arrested the 32-year-old accomplice in the Ramallah area on May 24.
Indictments against the two are expected to be filed on Sunday.
Since October 7, Israeli security forces have arrested around 4,000 wanted Palestinian terror suspects in Judea and Samaria, of whom 1,700 are associated with Hamas.
