Woman Shot at Kalandia Checkpoint

Jerusalem, 27 February, 2017 (TPS) -- At around 13:00 (Israel time) a minority woman arrived at the Kalandia checkpoint on the tracks designated for vehicles, between northern Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem, apparently holding an unidentified package. After she refused to comply with the calls demanding her to stop advancing, the security forces performed an arrest.

The woman, a resident of Kfar ‘Aqab in East Jerusalem, aged approximately 20, was then evacuated by the emergency services in light condition.

The circumstances of her arrest or the content of what she was carrying remain unknown.
