480 Patients Treated in Skopje COVID Centers, 38 Hospitalized in Past 24 Hours: Health Ministry

Jerusalem, 30 November, 2020 (TPS) -- Skopje, 30 November 2020 (MIA) – The Ministry of Health said Monday that in the past 24 hours, 38 confirmed coronavirus patients have been admitted in the COVID centers in Skopje due to virus complications.

A total of 480 confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients are being treated at the infectious disease wards in the hospitals in the capital.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 22 patients have been admitted at the internal clinics, of which three within the Institute for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis, one at the COVID center in the Neurology Clinic, six at the center in the Dermatovenerology Clinic, two at the Nephrology Clinic, seven at the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic and three at the Ophthalmology Clinic.

Moreover, 11 patients were admitted at the COVID center within the Skopje City General Hospital ‘8 September’ and five at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, the press release reads.

In the past 24 hours, 16 recovered coronavirus patients were discharged from hospitals.

24 patients are currently being treated at the COVID center within the Dermatology Clinic, another 35 at the Neurology Clinic, 44 at the Institute for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis, 26 at the Gastroenterohepatology Clinic, 24 at the Nephrology Clinic, 14 patients at the Ophthalmology Clinic and 19 at the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic.

There are 106 patients at the “8 September” hospital, 153 patients at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and 35 patients at the Institute of Respiratory Diseases in Children-Kozle, of which nine children and 24 adults.

A total of 480 confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients are being treated at the infectious disease wards in the hospitals in the capital. Many of them are on oxygen support.

“Despite the surge in hospitalizations on Sunday, there were about 40 hospital beds available until 8 am on Monday, and more are expected to become available during the day at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and the ‘8 September’ hospital as recovered patients are discharged,” reads the press release.
